I am a 47-year-old tattooed DJ with ripped jeans and a backward baseball cap. No one expects me to tell them I talk to dead people. No one looks at the portrait of Ozzy Osbourne permanently inked on my arm while listening to about 72 F bombs per sentence that comes out of my mouth and expects a tarot card spread presented to them. As a reader I worry that I won’t be good enough for people to listen to what I’m saying. As a radio DJ for over 20 years, I wonder about the same thing. It goes back to that fundamental principle: integrity. Would YOU accept that reading? Would YOU listen to that radio break? You can’t control what people think, but if they don’t like what you authentically bring to the table, then they aren’t meant to be a part of your world. In the last few years, I have had the honor of reading for musicians I grew up admiring, renowned psychic mediums, and many wonderful people from across the world. I authored a book on using music to understand Tarot and teach metaphysical classes at night. I recently became meditation certified and look forward to many guided experiences together. Now, although my journey TECHNICALLY began the moment this round of life on planet earth did, My enthusiasm for intuitive guidance did NOT.
My mother has been reading Tarot since SHE was 14 years old. I knew about the cards long before I had any interest in them. I also didn’t have much of an interest in listening to either parent back then, which made my journey into the metaphysical world a very delayed one. It was in my face, or seemed that way and I’m a Gen X kid. We didn’t listen to our parents all that well.
When I FINALLY embraced the idea that I should be doing what my mother does, it was after decades of futile refusal and stubborn denial. Sadly, it took me a little over 40 years to realize going with the flow is a much easier philosophy to live by. I’m here now though and so are you, so although the roads we travel may be different, they led us here. I’m grateful for that. Welcome
