Please To Meet You... You Know His Name

You know the song "Can't Help Myself" by the Four Tops? It's a Motown classic so I'm positive that even if the title doesn't ring a bell, the moment the lyric "SUGAR PIE HONEY BUNCH" comes on the radio, you are singing right along, effortlessly. It's a simple song that asks a simple question. Why is the narrator allowing a woman to walk all over him so harshly? We, as the listener, hear all about how she ignores him, uses him, and even mocks him yet the poor soul confessing his pain says over and over, "I Can't Help Myself" So, here lies the paradox. The question is simple enough, but the answer is complicated.... because the answer is simple yet it's just not providing what's needed to move forward. I mean, it's clear to US that the singer of this timeless classic (Levi Stubbs) needs to DUMP this chick... but he won't.

There is a Tarot card that illustrates this frustrating mentality perfectly, The Devil. In most traditional depictions of card number 15 in the Major Arcana, the devil stands high above a naked couple who are bound to the satanic figure by chains. Its ominous, even hopeless looking but if you look closely, those chains aren't really confining the trapped couple. They are fairly loose in reality. When the Devil shows up, we know what we're doing is wrong. We know what the answer is. We know how to escape the chains that bind us, yet we continue to defy ourselves. This is the main reason drug addiction is so closely associated with this card, but we humans continue to make the decisions day in and day out without the prodding of chemical euphoria.

There have been countless clients who have sat before me, wanting to know if their partner on the side is going to leave their spouse. I have been asked if a client will finally be caught skimming money off the books at work. People have sat before me, looking to connect with spirits for answers they already know the answers to. This is all the Devil creeping in. So, the better question is, why do we allow ourselves to be fooled by our own B.S.? 95 percent of the time, when a client asks you a question that seems so obvious, it's because deep down, they're hoping you are wrong and will tell them that it's all going to be okay. The Devil shows

not to tell you that it's NOT okay, but to MOCK you for KNOWING that it's not okay and continue to fall.

So, if you're not going to heed by advice that doesn't match your opinion, I would suggest laying off seeing a psychic. If you're at least OPEN to advice that may challenge you to do better, be better, and live better, then yes, you have made the right appointment
