Pressure Can Feel Like 18 And Life

A gallery style reading is a radically different experience than having a one on one session with a psychic. Picture dozens, if not hundreds of eyes locked upon you as you try and connect with spirits in the room. Every single mistake, or misunderstood message simply builds doubt in the rest of the audience. So, you must be continuous in the mission to establish trust with your audience. The first time I ever hosted a gallery style reading, I was able to overcome my nerves by reminding myself that these are strangers. I don’t have to go home with their opinions. Good strategy, right? Well, that theory was rendered irrelevant the moment I walked into the room for my SECOND ever gallery and saw Snake Sabo from the band Skid Row sitting among the crowd. I won’t cram the whole story down your throat but since this was only my second gallery style reading, where everyone is looking right at me, I didn’t think I needed to see one of my favorite musicians who once guarded my bedroom walls in poster form when I was a teenager. Except I did. I needed to realize something. Most times we have a job to do, it’s not about us. It’s about what we have been assigned to do. I was assigned the opportunity to provide valuable information to people in a metaphysical manner. So that’s what I did. The fact that I was biting my tongue due to nerves that one of my musical heroes was watching me do it had nothing to do with what I was supposed to be doing. No one there paid to watch me talk about my Metal Edge magazine subscription. Sometimes we must remember to take ourselves out of it. I was nervous. I was freaking out, really, but none of that mattered because it wasn’t about me. It was about the people hoping to hear a message. So sometimes, when the pressure is on, you have to take yourself out of picture and focus on who is receiving the photo. Even if it’s someone who sold millions of records
