Why You Wish Upon A Star
So new beginnings? They're exciting, right? Romantic? Exhilarating to be walking down a new road, in new shoes, with a new perspective? Yeah, it should be... but WHY are you starting over? I have used this theory many times in Rock N Soul Tarot class, and often to clients who sit with me for one-on-one sessions. Nobody sits with a psychic because everything is going great in their lives. Not once has someone sat across from me and said, "Wow Bri, my life is so awesome, I need you to do a reading for me and tell me how much MORE awesome things are going to get. Even if someone is just looking for career guidance, or academic advice, those situations usually come with their own type of intense stress. It's why so many con artists are able to fool their way through a reading without the most vulnerable noticing. Picture a gypsy lady stirring a cauldron in front of you and declaring, "Oh Child I see great trouble in your life" yes... yes that is accurate because there is a 100 percent chance that the person coming to you for intuitive guidance is currently facing great trouble.
One of the most hopeful of the 78 cards in a traditional deck of tarot is the Star Card. It's generally looked at as a call for redemption, transformation, and getting rid of the old to make room for the new. That should sound delightful but think for a moment about what would bring you to welcome such an opportunity? You're usually not looking for a new job if you're making six figures and your boss buys you a new car every year, right? If your spouse is a well-endowed model and your kids are well mannered valedictorians, chances are you're not looking to leave home anytime soon, no? The Star card is the very next card after the Tower, a card that represents everything falling apart with no chance of repair. This is usually when most of us make drastic change. We're not just content when things are going well but tend to ignore the dumpster fire burning the house down behind us until our hair torches. This is common, and all too often the reason for change. We wait. We wait until we've heard it a million times. Wait until we've been burned a million and one. Then the universe usually makes the decision for us, and we spend so much time climbing out of the hole we've dug that we're exhausted and can't truly appreciate a new start. Now I'm not saying find the happiest situation in your life and end it tomorrow. It's just smart to stay on top of an ever-changing world that will not wait for us.
If you have asked yourself more than once, is it time for change, it probably is. Think of these lyrics for motivation next time your faced with a "Is It Time For Something New? Moment"
"At first, I see an open wound
Infected and disastrous
It breathes chaotic catastrophe
It cries to be renewed, "Please renew me!"
Its tears are the color of anger
They dry to form a scab
To the touch, it's stiff and resilient
Underneath, the new skin breathes, yeah
It's all been saved, with the exception for the right parts
When will we be new skin"

If change must come, accept it, and embrace it. Just don't let Orlando convince you to insult a woman's hair color or you may never see an Autum Sunrise again
